Objective: Explain Previs Elements and how we use them for the project

The next project we are working on is a cutscene using Unitys Timeline and Cinemachine(we will go into them in the next post).

Before woking on the scene we have been given a document, our Previs Elements or Previsualization of how the scene/cutscene should look. The Previs Elements were provided with a cutscene title and 3 visuals with instructions on how the cutscene would flow.

Cutscene Title
Cutscene Part 1
Cutscene Part 2
Cutscene Part 3

As you can see from the above images, the previs for the cutscene is fairly specific in how the camera shots should behave and which way the cameras should move/pan during each segment. The whole scene is short but there are a few elements including multiple cameras with multiple camera positions and flows.

In the next post, we will look at Timeline and Cinemachine and in how to set up this cutscene.
